One of my favorite parts of this trip was being able to go
to the theatre. On Wednesday night, I was able to attend the play Lion King at
the Lyceum Theatre. This was my first experience going to this kind of play and
I was awe struck the entire time! It also helps that the Lion King was one of
my favorite movies as a child (and really it still is one of favorites). All
the people in the play did an amazing job, but my favorites were the two little
kids the played Simba and Nala. They were my favorite not because they did the
best but because for being so young they had their lines down so well and they
didn’t even look the least bit nervous. I couldn’t imagine being a child and
having such a big part in a very popular play like that. I also enjoyed how the
actors and actresses didn’t have strong accents and they were very easily
understood. This is definitely something I would love to do more often!

I have to agree with you that going to the theatre was one of my favorites while abroad! Of course, since it was Lion King it was an even better experience! This was the first big theatre experience I have ever had and it was amazing. We sat right by the isle and we have animals coming down right beside us. It made it seem that much more realistic. I also have to agree that the kids did do an amazing job with their parts. Another thing you mentioned was the accents. I am also glad that the actors and actresses were very easy to understand because some people were extremely hard to understand at times and you just had to agree with them as if you knew exactly what they were saying! That happened to me quite often!
ReplyDeleteWe will totally have to go to Denver to see shows! I loved the show as well. I've been in theatre most of my life and I'm normally a critic. I didn't have anything bad to say about this production. The accents just made it that much better - British accents make everything sound better!
